I am not a fan of expressing my sad story about my experience with my condition, but if it can help others..then why not. I was first diagnosed with Systemic Lupus December 2005 and I've had it for five years now. i must say It was one of the most scariest experiences of my life and it definitely took a toll on my family and I both physically and emotionally. The toughest part about my diagnosis is that it all happened so fast and by the time we figured it out, I was one sickly child, praying for my life. My doctors told my family didn't I wouldn't survive, I was on Life Support for 2 days, on dialysis, & hospitalized for 5 months.You can imagine being a 16 year old child enclosed to a hospital bed while your friends are enjoying the best years of they're lives, such as, school dances, activities,shopping and etc. But through it all, I can't complain, because I am still here today... I see my sickness as a test from God and I believe I've conquered that test & that God has chosen me to be an example to other Lupus Patients or anyone who is suffering from a life threatening disease. To show that is possible to move on with life & follow your dreams, as long as you stay true to yourself and keep your faith and trust in the Lord..."Through him, all things are possible"

Hello, my name is Gladys and I'm 21 years old. I'm not a fan of reading, so I'll keep this short. I love to go to church, volunteer, sing, dance, write poetry, and most importantly MODEL. I've always had a passion for modeling and I try my best to not let anything or anyone come in the middle of that. I can be sensitive, sweet, caring, and loving, but once you cross me, that can all change. I always say, "Treat others how you would want to be treated" I am looking foward to meeting more people that a dealing with the same difficulties I face everyday of my life, with being a Lupus Patient.
