I guess it's been awhile
Yep I'm still alive! LOL Been busy still fighting for ssi. Still flaring but haven't had a kidney infection in awhile so that's good. On Cellcept now. We started doing foster care in Feb. already getting ready to adopt a baby boy. The young mildly slow parents have realized that they aren't ready so they would like us to adopt him. Jakob is super excited to be getting a permanent brother. Who knows maybe the next foster would be a girl. Ironic thing is his name is Jacoby. I know I'll get comments about that fact that both the boys names are so close. We passed our adoption homestudy with flying colors. We have had baby since he left the hospital from being born 8 1/2 months ago. His biological parents do love him but even after this many months still have a hard time caring for him during their visits. Atleast they'll be able to have a few visits a year as we are doing an open adoption.

Yep still ticking and flaring
I had gotten my kidneys back up to 97% now they are back down to 90% from the latest kidney infections. My joints are all on fire as well haven't been able to do much. Still fighting for ssi. For some reason they stiil believe after 6 years of me not working that I am able to. They have reports from 4 of my drs stating that there is no way I can. Now I am waiting for the Supreme court for the 1st application and the appeal hearing for the 2nd.

Still flaring but still alive.
I have been fighting pleurisy for the last three weeks, I have been told this round of prednisone taper is my last chance they are considering chemo. I am hoping the flare will knock it off enough to avoid that before the next few weeks is up. This higher dosing seems to be doing ok I feel it has calmed down a tiny bit but wont know til next week when I have my f/u.
My kiddo had me fight the school for him. They were wanting to hold him back because he has the speech issues and he's small. I have worked with him at home and he knows everything he needs to know to move forward so we are sending him to first grade. He is even a little ahead in a couple areas.

I said DUH to my RHEUMATOLOGIST
THey got me worried over nothing. All I was is that I am no longer Negative ANA. I am now positive. I looked at hm and said "DUH" I've only been in my worst flare so far. I get to start Plaquenil, again. I couldn't believe that they told me to pack my bags because there was a chance I was going to have to stay. I told the Rheumy to teach his receptionists better this was something that could have waited until Tuesday at my appt to talk about. I've have only been dealing with SLE since Aug. 2001 I don't think 4 days would've hurt as the ana status basically to my body means squat. All it means s that yes I am in a flare. I was like DOY. But oh well. Right now compared to some I still feel fortunate. My bodys going haywire but so far its basically annoyances my kidneys have healed great from the stones and infection. My blood count is getting better so I can stay off of antibiotics for now too. I also got the go ahead to have a couple months off from going to the rheumy providing nothing else comes up. It may take a little while to get this one to calm down. We are also going to be working on figuring out a new pain management as the darvocet is no longer working. I am SOOOO happy that its not nearly as bad as they led me to believe.
