I've considered it, but when I think about all the things I'd have to give up, it just seems daunting! What have you replaced gluten-containing foods with? Was it a difficult change to make? I was vegan for about a year and didn't notice a difference in how I felt, but maybe the gluten is the key...
I was able to find rice based products to replace the wheat ones. Do you have a trader joes or whole foods near you? They have listings on their websites for what glten free products they carry.
Hey! well I'm allergic to gluten! so basically all I eat are gluten free products. I eat some stuff that have gluten but then i suffer the consecuences! lol! But I proved that after I started eating GLUTEN FREE I was feeling sooo much better! so i recomend to start out with just some things cause not all the gluten free products tase good! anything else i can help wth let me know!
A friend came over for coffee the other day and brought croissants from the bakery. I pigged out! And then, within a couple of hours, was so exhausted I could barely move. If I'm honest with myself, it really does seem like wheat - if not all gluten - affects me negatively. If you all are having such great results, it's definitely encouraging. And a diet that includes cheese and chocolate can't be all bad :)
Nicole, I LOVE Trader Joe's! I used to live in Massachusetts and would shop there all the time. Now that I'm back in Canada, though, there's isn't anything like it. I'll have to stock up on supplies next time I go and visit. Their sunbutter is fantastic!
I was just at a doctor's office for a partial ligament tear (caused by my lupus inflammation) and one of his workers was telling me about his own wife. The wife apparently was diagnosed a few times with lupus and fibromyalgia. However, she never responded to meds. She tried a gluten free diet and has been pain free and energetic and takes NO meds! I think I might try it.
i've thought about it, but dont know where to start. And if there are true benefits to this. I guess if wouldnt hurt to try. Any ideas or suggestions i'm up for thanks, Celina.
I have SLE, RA, fibro. Behcets, Raynauds and severe Migrains
