HELLO!! Oh wow it's been so long. I'll send you a message to your inbox, but I had to pop in here and tell you I hope you have been well. I've missed writing to you! *gentle hugs*
Hi Lillykat how have you been doing latley? I am foing much better Lupus wise since I changed to another Rhumie doctor. I must admit I have mixed feeling that he has perscibed a walker with a seat for me, for my challenging days because of a bad fall I had. the new meds that he has me on are really helping me function better. One med is for my circulutory ptoblems (Rynauds syndrom) which really has already made a difference in my abilty ro walk more without the pain and the swelling and a pain medication to treat my joint pain that happend to be used also has a muscle relaxer I take it three times a day and it truly lessens my stiffness in the morning. My puppy is old news now,. I had to return her to the shelter after she attacked me and now I have five more days on a antibiotic for a serious infection due to the dog bite. Well I hope all is well with you and I wish you a Great Thanksgiving and I would love to know what is going on in your life anything new or exciting happening?
Hi Lilykat, I hope that you are doing well. I have been being sort of a recluse because of my flare I am having right now. I do not like to complain. Chloe, my 3 month old puppy is keeping me quite busy and she is already starting to be protective of me on our walks with people she gets a bad vibe with. I now know that we both have successguly bonded even with her being a stray running in the streets until someone rescued her and placed her in the shelter that I adopted her. She now cuddles and comforts me when I feeling lousy. We have come a long way and in two weeks she was fully house broken
I hope that you are okay and would love yo hear from you when yoou are able!
Hi Lilykat, my puppy is doing well in spite of being a stray. She is 90% house broken already. "Chole" is teething so she is a bit cranky. I feel a bit yucky healthwise because of the flu shot that got two days ago and also the terrible heat.I was reallt overwhelmed with all of my classes so I was able yo drop one with no penalty. This quarter is a tough one!!
Well I hope everything is going well with you and as always I will look forward to hearing from you when you are able!
Hi Summer. How are you? How is it going with the puppy? I'm wondering about you two. Hope that it has not been too difficult for you. How are you healthwise? My word is it hot today! I was at the Anti-Coagulation Clinic this morning and then had to run to the pharmacy and by the time I stopped at my boyfriend's job, I was melting. My make-up melted off. lol. I hope that you are not out in the sun and bonding with the pup. Hugs to you both. Have you taken any pictures?
Hi Lillykat, I am now the proud human parent of a three month old puppy. I am trally glad that I researched on this breed that I was not familar with. Cleo, which is the name I picked for her will may weigh up to 50 lbs when she becomes an adult. I hope soon to put pitures of her. Today I get to pick her up at the vet's hospital, where she is being spayed.
Well Lillykat need to leave for now, since I am really tired becayse of theweather being cooler I tried to get a lot done, so I am afraid thar I over did it!
Hi Lillykat, I was sorry to hear about your foot, I bet that you were bummed!! As dor me I have a flu bug, wouldn't you know it I got it a day before my appoinyment for the flu shot, let's hope it's not swine lol. I do feel that there has been too much togetherness with my new gentlemanfriend and I am getting sick if his annoying habits, that he thinks he does not have lol. He is insisting on coming over and seeing what I need, I really fif not want him here, but fee too lousyto argue. I hope I am all better on saturday when I go to the animal sheler to adopt. Well I need to be ending for now and I guess I will make Emanuel usefl before I send him on his way lol! We did though have a nice romantic dinner and some snuggle time last Saturday!!
Take Care
Summer
SUMMER!! How ARE you?! It's been so long since I heard from you. Not sure if you knew, but I had to be hospitalized for my foot injury. Got some great IV antibiotics and am on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized the day before the UCLA patient conference. I was so bummed. But I am getting better. And then when i came home, my internet was out. FOR A WEEK. *sigh* and my boyfriend is supposed to be a computer genius. He finally broke down and called customer support for our DSL provider. lol. I'm really wondering how you are doing. How are the meds treating you? As it gets colder in the weather, my hips are starting to feel it and are not shy about letting me know how uncomfortable they are. I do love the cold though. Hot chocolate and warm snuggies. lol. please let me know how you are! hugs for you my friend.
Hiya Summer! I had a great time at the Lupus walk on saturday. I met kittygato! She's so beautiful and her kids are adorable! I wasn't able to walk, just as I feared, and I had to do it in my wheelchair. The worst part is I tried doing it myself, and my arm started giving me these shooting pains that left me unable to push myself. My mom pushed me for the most part and she said that's what she was there for. :( I know I can count on her help, but I hate to be a burden. Well, we did it! :) Next year I may even take my dog along. A lot of people do! I hope that the day of the conference I am able to walk. The pain in my foot is unbearable. I keep wishing I had a pain pump on me. I just know that if my feet stopped swelling, the wound wouldn't be giving me so much trouble. Hope you have a great week!!
I want to wish you a lot of luck in your Lupus walk tomorrow. I agree with you that it is difficult to go to animal shelters, bit I have decided to bring along a list of my top ten perfereences in a dog, so than I can take my mind of a bit off thr dogs that all seem to be barking "take mhome"lol. I know that I will be sad still, but I have bribed my sister with Starbucks to be there with me. I always find it a bit easier to go to these shelyers with someone, even if it is my sister that mant times cayse a lot of tension, but she is so unconfortable with animals that I know she will look to me for protection lol and she needs to return the favor when she bribes me with Starbucks when she wants me to go shoe shopping with her, which I hate.
Lilly I will be interested in hearing all about yout Lupus walk, once you recover from it.
First of all, Congratulations on deciding to add to your family! And a Sheltie rescue! That's incredibly awesome. I love your generous heart! I have found that my pets bring me a lot of joy and comfort especially on days when I cannot stand to look at another person. lol. I don't want to see other people's pity or frustration at me. So I stay home with the "kids" and we have a great time. I don't always feel like that. I'm not anti-social, there are just some days....you know? lol. I love puppies! They're so cute and eager to learn and love you so much. They make my heart melt. I wish I could have a hundred puppies and give them the life they deserve, but I can barely afford my menagerie as it is! lmao. I had the cats for years and years before the dogs joined us. I think this is what made the difference. Bella was a teeny puppy when she came home and I think for the first year of her life she thought she was a cat. Seriously. She copied the cats as much as she could. And she ran around the house with Tiger I think because they're similar in coloring and she figured that must be her brother or something. :) So since she was so small, she was used to them. However, Osito just joined the family a few months ago. His first night here was hell. He would NOT stop barking at the cats. He had been an outdoor doggie and had a bigger dog brother before. Then the big guy tried to eat him and he had to go. He came here and he didn't know what to make of the cats. lol. They of course, responded by hissy fits. They accept Bella, but a new dog? Made them all mad at me for weeks. Now they've gotten used to each other for the most part. He'll still chase one around the house and try to fight with it, but the cats just ignore him for the most part. If you have both kinds of pets, as long as your place is big enough and there is room for them to hide, they'll get used to each other. Oh. and NEVER EVER feed them in the same place. It can get dangerous. lol. To be honest, as much as I love puppies, they're going to be difficult to train. As long as you have the energy for it, I say go for it! I took mine to doggie school at Petsmart. They have wonderful trainers there. Bigger shelter dogs are also great and some of them are trained. Whatever you decide, just go with the one who calls to your heart. I can't go into the shelter. Makes me cry. I want them all. :( Take care! I'll be walking for Lupus in L.A. tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
Hi Lillycat, how do your cats and your dog get a long. I am exciyed that in the early part of October I will be adopting a dog. All of my friends advise that I should get a puppy, what is your opinion? I will be using the animal shelter.By the way I did find some artificial purple flowers that I already have lol, but not sure how to use them, perhaps I will carry them like a boquet lol.
I hope that you have a great weekend, talk to you soon
