I had undiagnosed strep throat for 3 months prior to my diagnosis which my dr's believe to cause the onset. I was diagnosed with SLE when I was 16 in my junior year of highschool. Luckily, it has stayed in mainly in my joints. Currently I am taking plaquenil, prednisone, cyclobenzaprine, celebrex and extra strength tylenol. My case is pretty much under control, my main problem is weaning off the prednisone. I started at 10mg but can't seem to consistently stay below 5mg...hopefully that will change. Lupus impacts my life significantly but it is not who I am. Although it shapes my life and influences many of my descisions, I lead a pretty normal life.
