posted 22 months ago by memelissa

I need thoughts on neck pain being tied to my Lupus please... The neck pain is kinda new and I haven't done anything to my neck to cause it but its been going on for a lil while now.. please any thoughts..

Now wondering if this has to do with the headaches too...

This is my #1 symptom.  Chest, neck, and shoulder pain.  It drives me insane and no one has been able to officially find a cause or stop it.  My previous solution was about 3 days of sleep meds - tylenol PM or flexeril (muscle relaxer.)  I read somewhere that part of our problem is that because of underlying pain we don't get into a deep enough sleep pattern.  That lack of sleep makes it difficult to heal, which in turn increases pain.  It's a cycle.  Right now I'm 26 weeks pregnant, so I can't take flexeril, and I've been in SO much pain the past week that 1 Tylenol PM hasn't helped.  (May have to up it to 2, but I hate to "drug" my baby.)  I have read that unexplained pains are part of our disease, but I'm with you - it is so frustrating to feel like no one can help you.  Best of luck to you!  If you come across anything that helps feel free to share.

Cervical neck issues possibly. I have bone spurs on my cervical spine.
