Well,.. from my personal experience. Painkillers have given me energy. I know it may sound weird, but us lupies are wired differently...LOL My mom also has Lupus and she has even told me,.. she's taken a piece of Vicodin or other narcotic painkiller and it perked her up a little. Painkillers do have the ability to work both ways. I've seen evidence of getting a little wired from them, as well as they have made me sleepy. I guess it all depends on what gear you are in. Painkillers also give you a false sense of well being too though. You must be careful when it comes to those. Painkillers do a variety of things for me, so that is what I personally stick with. I'm not big on drinking coffee either...LOL I'm one of those.... That would rather crack a coke in the morning.
I'm interested to know.... Anyone else out there feel the same way as I do, when it comes to Painkillers?????
I started seeing a doctor at an integrative medicine clinic at the Ohio State University. Basically they take very ill patients, work with the medications they HAVE to take, and add vitamins, supplements, and alternative therapies to assist in your treatment. One thing my doc has recommended is a B complex - time released. She has suggested I take up to 3 a day - 1 in the morning and 2 around lunch. As long as I take them before 2:00 pm. The idea is they give you boosts of energy, but don't take them so late that you're not able to sleep at night. I have tested a couple different brands - some work better than others. But when I take it steadily I do see an increase in energy.
For me painkillers takes a lot of my pain away which in return makes me feel like doing more. without the pain medication I cant hardly even get up out of a chair much less do anything else. I found what Dawn said interesting about vitamin B helping with energy, something to read up on of sure.
