Relocating to help symptoms??

posted 30 months ago by jaedawn

A family member told me her son moved to Phoenix, AZ and noticed a huge decrease in his Lupus symptoms.  I'm assuming it's due to the lack of humidity there.  I'm wondering if anyone has had the same result from moving anywhere?  Or the opposite - did you move and notice your disease got worse?

I live in Cortez, CO... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has lupus and is sensitive to barometric pressure change - I'm constantly being knocked down by the storms... I have about 2 months a year where the weather doesn't get to me. :(

    Yeh most definatley!!!

The heat is what gets you. especially humidity that is the killER!

Try to be in an area where the climate is neautral most of time if you can:)

I don't really know if this has anything to do with getting Lupus, but I did get it as soon as I moved from Phoenix to Denver.

I live in Texas where the heat is scorching. Summers are no joke. Almost every summer I go to California and I have absolutely no symptoms even when I'm out in the sun. I thought that was interesting.

I just recently started looking into moving to a warmer place but my boyfriend doesnt want to leave his friends and family. The place I was looking at is a 7hr drive from where we are now. I know I would be happier and so would my joints but I understand why he doesnt want to uproot and go. So this situation is difficult. Right now my hands are blue and need warmth :(
