i just got the regular flu shot last week and asked my rheumy about the swine flu one...she suggests I DO get it but wants to make sure I get the injection one, NOT the live vaccine. I'm on chemo so my immune system really cant handle flus period!

I may get the shot, but I am avoiding the nasal spray...I heard that if you have a problem with your immune system or are taking a med that inhibits it, you should not take it because it contains a live virus. I am contacting my doctor.

my doctor says I need the shot. He said I definitely should not do the nasal mist. so, before you go, ask your doctor. I love mine.

I havent asked my doctor if he feels I should get the swine flu shot. I am okay with just a regular one. no need to add onto the bills! haha

I have already gotten the swine flu shot! The day after I got the shot was horrible! I felt like I had the worst flu ever but it only lasted like a day and a half and my Dr told me that I was having flu symptoms as a reaction to the shot! I think that it was good that I got it bc I would rather have the symptoms for a day than get the swine flu!!!

I am happy to report that I got the seasonal flu shot and was fine. And on the 30th of October I got the H1N1 flu shot and I was fine. No flu-like symptoms whatsoever.  Like you said Shellee, I'd rather have the symptoms for a day than get the actual swine flu, but luckily I didn't even have that! :)

Yes I will be getting one. My place of employment offers us the flu shot which was give to us in September and a soon as the Swine flu shot is available to us County employees we, with any kind of illnesses will be on top of the list. I had the swine flu back in August and it was crazy.
