My partner left me when I had my first flare in the relationship. He couldn't deal with it. After time apart and educating himself on Lupus, he asked for another opportunity. I gave it to him and we've been together over two years now. When the Lupus gets to be too much for both of us, I ask for space and he gives it to me. He's learned to be understanding when it comes to making plans because with Lupus you can make plans for tomorrow but the Wolf WILL cancel them without asking you. Lupus doesn't care that it's the last showing of some movie you really wanted to see. Well that's why God created DVDs. lol. He does get frustrated, but so do we as the lupus warriors. He has accused me of using it as an excuse for things but he has used my illness as an excuse for things! So there we are. Overall, he just tries to be the best partner he can be for me and I do the same for him.

It has been over 6 yrs since my last "serious" relationship and he just couldn't take it any more after I lost our son when I was 6mths pregnant when I had to have emergency open heart surgery. I haven't been able to open up completely to a man since then! I don't blame him and I am over it now but it was hard at the time! I am ready to try again now so hopefully soon I will find someone!

I got lucky with my hubby.  I started getting sick just before we got married and he has been through it all with me.  He gets added support from my family when things get tough and he needs a hand.

I am so glad that i have a man that is welling to take care of me when times get hard, at first he didnt understand and it was very frustrating that i couldnt be in the sun or my face was breaking out.
