I have been treated with Methotrexate, Azathioprine, Prednisone and Cellcept in addition to Plaquenil for lupus.  Methotrexate worked very well for several years but sadly it began to elevate my liver enzymes so needed to discontinue it.  I was then started on Azathioprine but it made me extremely nauseated and I vomited daily so it was discontinued.  I am on Cellcept now which is not nearly as effective as Methotrexate.

Throughout my 10 years since diagnosis, I have never been in complete remission; I have never had relief from joint, muscle or tendon pain.  For this I take Tramacet and/or Tylenol #3 for pain once to twice a day.

Since March, 2006, I have not been able to work because of my increased pain and fatigue.  Since I have been off work, I have learned to pace myself in a healthy manner; I continue to experience flare ups but who knows how severe they would be if I was not livinf=g a more relaxed lifestyle.
