I'm sure I had lupus since I was a little girl. I wasn't diagnoised until I was 48 and now I have lung involvement too.  Rhuematologist is who you need to see and only then they can dx unless you're in a flare.

It took the better part of ten years for me to get my diagnosis.  I saw a myriad of doctors before being referred to a rheumatologist.  The rheumy is the one who found it.  Lupus mimics so many other diseases, which makes it hard to diagnose....combine that with the fact that many doctors (not all) tend to brush your symptoms off as hormonal or depression and that can lead to years of suffering without a diagnosis.  There is also no guarantee that once diagnosed, you will get a prescription routine that will help.  (I haven't been able to handle ANY of the traditional treatments for Lupus)....I hope that is not the case for you. But hang in there.  Answers are coming.
