Ryan and I are still together. He is super supportive. Sometimes he babies me way too much and worries too much but it's a wonderful change from the boyfriend I had when I was diagnosed. I think the key is being honest and up front. I told him about Lupus on one of our first dates. It was cute because the first time I went to his house he had all these websites up on his computer from where he was researching it. If I'm having a bad Lupus day I just tell him and we change our plans and do a cuddle/movie day instead of kayaking or hiking or whatever it is we were planning for that weekend. My advice is tread cautiously. There are a lot of jerks out there that can't deal. I know that one more than others too. Good luck.
Hi, I read your response to a question about dating and Lupus in the "Dating and Lupus" community. I just wanted to ask you how you are doing these days with that? Your response was 4 months ago... If I may ask, are you and Ryan still together? How are you doing with dating and Lupus? I ask because I am just thinking of getting back into the "game" and have a lot of concerns about it. I thought maybe if I saw how others deal, I would be able to deal on my own better.... Sorry for just coming in here and writing to you, me being a stranger and all....
