WASHINGTON, Dec 09, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. (LFA) has expanded its senior management team and added three new staff members to its national office in Washington, DC to lead field development, marketing, and fund raising. The new members of the LFA management team are: Susan Bruney, Vice President, Chapter Development and Training; Mary Crimmings, Vice President, Marketing, Communications, and Advocacy; and Anne Menotti, Vice President, Development and Fund raising.
Bruney will lead the LFA's chapter development and training programs to expand the organization's nationwide network of chapters and manage the relationship between chapters and the LFA national office. Prior to joining the LFA, Bruney served as the Regional Field Director for the Alzheimer's Association national office, where she provided guidance and consulting services in all areas of organizational capacity building.
Crimmings will oversee all of the LFA's marketing, communications, and advocacy initiatives. Most recently, Crimmings served as Vice President for Matthews Media Group (MMG), a patient enrollment firm where she was responsible for the overall strategic management and implementation of national health education and marketing campaigns.
Menotti will direct all fund raising for the LFA including major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and direct mail. She comes to the LFA from American University, where she integrated fund raising, marketing and communication functions, and orchestrated a short and long-term strategy to position the university as a leading school of communication.
"We are excited to have such qualified and experienced professionals join the LFA team," said Sandra C. Raymond, LFA President and CEO. "As the LFA expands to meet new challenges and increased demands for services, each of these talented managers brings their unique perspective to our organization that will help us achieve three of our critical objectives--raising public awareness of lupus, expanding our chapter network and services, and raising funds so we can provide services and support to those affected by lupus."
Founded more than 30 years ago, the LFA is the foremost national nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus and for providing support, services, and hope to all people affected by lupus. The LFA operates programs of research, education, and advocacy, and has a nationwide network of nearly 300 chapters, branches, and support groups.
